- Alexis Sanchez has suffered a huge fall from grace at Manchester United
- Much was made of the Chile international’s move from rivals Arsenal in 2018
- But he has scored just a measly five goals for United since his transfer
- Now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to get rid of the 30-year-old forward
The biggest problem facing Manchester United right now is the future of out-of-favour forward Alexis Sanchez.
With a measly five goals to his name after signing from Arsenal in January 2018, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to get rid but a whole host of problems currently face him.
As much as United want to move the forward on, suitors are hard to come by with Roma currently the only club interested.

But it isn’t just a case of Sanchez, who suffered a hamstring injury in early July while playing for Chile in the Copa America, moving abroad. They need to find a club that can afford him but they have struggled to so far.
The willingness to give him £500,000-per-week on arrival from Arsenal in January 2018 has screwed them over in the long-run.
United have reluctantly accepted they will have to fund part of his staggering £500,000-per-week wages or pay him off if he moves away on loan.
As well as finding it hugely difficult to sell, the hastiness to throw money at Sanchez has messed up the club’s whole wage structure and that was evident from talks with Ander Herrera and David de Gea.

Meanwhile, if United are forced to keep him, the 30-year-old will probably have to settle for a spot on the bench under Solskjaer, who will likely use him in the League Cup, Europa League and FA Cup.
And Solskjaer, who took over permanently at Old Trafford at the end of March, hinted that this would be the case for Sanchez.
When asked if more players could go before the European transfer window closes on September 2, he replied: ‘There might be yes.
‘The thing is it’s not about who we don’t want here, it’s about who we want here and you’re going to see that in the team selections and who’s going to be with us in the long run.’

It has emerged Sanchez was involved in a training-ground bust-up with Mason Greenwood
Sanchez’s United career was plunged further into the darkness after it emerged he was involved in a training-ground bust-up with Mason Greenwood – a player Solskjaer is fond of – during pre-season.
According to the Sun, Sanchez was furious at being tackled, particularly after having suffered hamstring injuries before.
Sanchez knows that Greenwood is also going to become a more regular feature in the United team.
The 17-year-old was a second half substitute in United’s first Premier League game of the season on Sunday.
While it can’t be ruled out that Sanchez will go this summer, it requires a club to be willing to pay a hefty chunk of his huge wages, United to pay the rest and the player himself to accept a move that will likely be a step down.
Much was made of his arrival from Arsenal but he has failed to live up to expectations.
