And the referee brings a frenetic and action-packed opening 45 minutes to a close. The sides head into the break with the score 2-2.
46′ Pulisic plays it to Emerson on the left. The wing back whips it in for the American to control, but he’s crowded out by Norwich defenders and decides to lay it off to Ross Barkley to strike way over the bar from the edge of the box.
44′ Barkley spots the run of Pulisic and picks him out in the box. The American wriggles free but his effort on goal is blocked. Chelsea work it back out to the right. Azpilicueta skips past his man and delivers a teasing cross. Abraham tries to get to it at the front post but Norwich just do enough to scramble it behind for a corner.
43′ Stiepermann picks up a yellow for sliding in on Jorginho. Replay made it look harsh, the Norwich man appeared to take the ball.
42′ Norwich camped out in their half at the moment but there doing a decent job of stifling Chelsea’s attacks. They’ll just want to get in for half-time now.
34′ Norwich cleverly work the free-kick to Buendia, who lashes a shot at goal. It’s hit with venom but right at Kepa and the Chelsea keeper beats away. The hosts work the ball back into the box and Chelsea fail to deal with it. The ball drops to Hanely who instinctively hits at goal but Kepa is there again to deny Norwich.
33′ Jorginho picks up the first yellow of the match for a late challenge on Buendia. The Norwich midfielder played a quick one-two with Stiepermann and Jorginho catches him on the ankle with his studs. A definite yellow.
30′ Completely against the run of play this. Buendia plays in Pukki in behind Kurt Zouma. The striker latches on to the ball and beats Kepa from a tight angle. The Chelsea keeper got a hand to it but couldn’t keep it out. He should have done much better with that. But Norwich are back on level terms. Pukki just can’t stop scoring.
28′ Chelsea win the ball in Norwich’s half and break quickly. Pulisic dribbles into the box and squares for Jorginho. The midfielder shapes to shoot then tries to cut back but Godfrey times his sliding challenge to perfection to make a vital interception.
25′ The ball gets floated towards the back post towards Christensen, who gets inside his marker to head at goal, but Tim Krul reacts quickly and pushes over the bar. Norwich on the ropes a bit at the moment.
23′ Chelsea work the ball into Mount in the box, the midfielder is surrounded by defenders and takes a swing at goal. The ball spins to Abraham who takes a touch and fires at goal but again a Norwich defender is there to block.
17′ Norwich concede possession in midfield, Jorginho plays it in to Ross Barkley who drives forward and passes to Mason Mount. The young midfielder takes a good touch to create some space in the box before smashing into the corner of the net. Chelsea back in front.
13′ Kovacic plays a quick give and go with Pulisic but can’t pick out Abraham in the box. Chelsea’s key players starting to get on the ball and make things happen now.
9′ Needless to say, this game has gotten off to a flyer. Real fast pace and intensity to it. Both sides look comfortable on the ball. Norwich in particular have began to weave their pretty patterns of play. Got a feeling there’s plenty more goals in this one yet!
6′ Well that was short lived. Cantwell wrestles his way past two players in midfield, plays it into Leitner, who finds Pukki in a bit of space in the corner of the box. The striker passes across the box for the arriving Cantwell to stab home through the legs of Kepa. The camera pans to Lampard… he’s not happy.
3′ First chance, first goal and it’s Tammy Abraham with the strike. Chelsea work the ball down the right. Pulisic holds the ball up, Azpilicueta overlaps and crosses for Abraham, who makes a good connection on the half volley and finds the corner of the net. He runs straight to Frank Lampard to celebrate.
2′ There is a real party atmosphere inside Carrow Road today. Norwich fans have been in full voice in these opening couple of minutes. On the pitch, no action as of yet.
And we are underway here at Carrow Road.

‘I think he will be a huge player not only for Chelsea but for England as well in the years to come. I don’t want to put pressure on the lad but he is such an exciting talent.’
