The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has said the current interruption in power supply, being experienced in some parts of the country is due to major outages in its distribution system.
According to the company, the rainstorm that hit the Greater Accra Region and certain parts of the country on Wednesday, 6 April 2022 has “caused major outages” in its distribution system.
A statement issued by the Company, cautioned “all and sundry to be extremely careful not to touch or step on loose or fallen electrical conductors since they could be live.”
It also urged “anyone who has encountered loose or fallen conductors, and customers experiencing outages to call” the ECG contact centre or reach them on any of their social media handles.
“Customers should note that our Engineers are working assiduously to rectify the faults and restore power supply,” the statement added.
