SAMERKAND, September 15 – RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked his Kyrgyz counterpart, Sadyr Zhaparov, for supporting the Russian language in this country, during a meeting on the sidelines of the SCO summit on Thursday.
“There are nine general education schools in the republic that teach in Russian, teachers from Russia teach in Kyrgyz schools, which is very important in our time. We want to thank you for supporting the Russian language in the country. Putin said “the main basis for the development of relations in many other fields.”
He reminded that 70 regions of the Russian Federation participate in interregional cooperation between the two countries. Putin also drew attention to the organization of Russian Culture Days in Bishkek and other joint events. “All this is a very good basis for creating conditions for the future positive development of our relations.”
In general, Putin noted that he was very pleased to see Zhaparov and wanted to talk about “mutual interests”. “We have many such common interests. We are close countries, we are strategic partners, allies, we work in many international and regional organizations,” said the President of the Russian Federation.
