Hip-hop and R&B musician Akon has admitted that he underwent two cosmetic surgeries in Turkey.
One was for his teeth, and the other was for the hair on top of his head.
He stated on the Bootleg Kev Podcast, “I traveled to Turkey to undergo a treatment.
Remember that my entire [hair] front was loose from the start.
According to Akon, the most painful aspect of the process is when they have to numb you up.
The “Smack That” hitmaker used his fingers to show how one’s skull is repeatedly jabbed with “a needle this huge,” saying “That numbing ain’t no joke.”
He also said that as part of the operation, one’s hair is grafted; better hair is transferred to an area where the hair is poor and thin.
The creator of Konvict Kulture also disclosed that he had advised Canadian sensation Tory Lanez to have the operation.
He laughed a lot about that with the host. Akon said with a sense of marketing, “Turkey is recognized for two things: hair and dental [procedures].”
They are excellent at both. He emphasized, “They specialize in hair,” adding, “beards,” and anything else.
Akon was quite clear about how inexpensive the hair process was, adding, “It’s so affordable it’s crazy.”
According to the Senegalese-American millionaire, “For what I did, it would have cost me US$50,000 here in America” but “I paid what? 7,800 or 7,500 [in Turkey]. That’s it.”
The media mogul decried exorbitant healthcare prices in America.
“Here, they are overcharging. Anything related to healthcare, or any kind of medical procedure, America [charges] ten times,” he said.
Akon also said, “I work hard for this money, I don’t care,” when his frugality was questioned in the light of his wealth and how much he decided to pay for the hair transplant.
Happy to have made the right financial choice, he said: “Even the teeth procedures over there, here, the same job that people are paying 40 and 50 grand [thousand] for, they’re [Turkey] charging you 500, 7,500 dollars.”
He again disclosed that he has had a procedure done on his teeth: “The fronts, yeah, these are veneers.”
On the pain of the medical process, “Nah, that was simple,” was his comment.
The record producer and singer’s latest offering is called ‘Enjoy That’.
