Presidential Staffer Dennis Miracles Aboagye has dismissed claims that Assin North roads are being done because of the upcoming by-election.
He says there were road projects ongoing in the area way before the by-election date was slated.
“There are 112 projects that have been initiated with some of them going on in including 17 roads,” he said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, June 3.
“…The roads have started already before the by-election,” he stressed.
Some earth-moving equipment were spotted in the Assin North Constituency in the Central Region after date of the by-election was announced.
The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) on Wednesday, May 31 announced that the much-anticipated by-election in the Constituency will be held on Tuesday, June 27.
On Thursday, June 1, reconstruction of some roads in the Constituency was seen.
Media General‘s Thomas Cann reported, however, that residents claim no amount of “lies” would convince them to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Others were also happy the advent of the by-election has resulted in a reconstruction of the roads.
“We need development, so if it is coming because of the by-election, we are happy,” one said.
