The Supreme Court has directed parliament to hold on with the Speaker’s ruling on the four embattled Membeof Parliament.
Parliament has been directed to recognise the 4 MPs and allow them represent their constituents,” the Supreme Court’s ruling stated.
On Thursday October 17, the Speaker of Parliament , Rt Hon Alban Bagbin ruled on a motion filed by Hon Haruna Idditisu, that four (4) Members of Parliament who have decided to run as independent candidates and affiliate with different political parties, respectively, be made to vacate their seats as per certain provisions in the 1992 constitution.
The affected MPs included Cynthia Morrison (Agona West), Kwadjo Asante (Suhum), Andrew Amoako Asiamah (Fomena), and Peter Kwakye Ackah (Amenfi Central).
