Two Military Officers have been attacked by the Obuasi East NDC Communication Officer at a polling station in the Obuasi East constituency.
The soldiers who were fully armed attempted to visit the polling centre during the ongoing 2024 general elections.
Upon arrival, the NDC Communication Officer reportedly requested that the soldiers leave the premises immediately or face being reported to the police.
This request led to a confrontation, resulting in a physical altercation between the two soldiers and the NDC party member who was joined in the attack by other party members.
The situation quickly escalated, with the soldiers allegedly resisting the instructions of the NDC communication officer.
The incident raised concerns about the presence of military personnel at polling stations, prompting calls for clarification on their role and presence during the election process.
Authorities are expected to investigate the matter to ensure the safety and integrity of the electoral process in the area.
