After her honor was announced, Campbell spoke out on the issue of racial diversity in the industry.

Campbell’s commitment to cultural change in the industry hasn’t stopped there.
She launched the Diversity Coalition campaign in 2013 to address racism in fashion.
In 1987, Campbell became the first black model to grace the cover of British Vogue.
Since then, she’s landed 66 Vogue covers and strutted catwalks for some of the world’s most coveted fashion designers.
