On Tuesday ,November 5,2019 the Second lady and fellow Clean Cooking Alliance Champion,Rocky Dawuni together with Chebat Lesan,Clean Cooking Entrepreneur and Phoebe Macharia,Youth Advocate ;launched the ” Clean cooking is..” campaign at the opening plenary of the 2019 Clean Cooking Forum in Narioba,Kenya.
Second lady was the keynote speaker at the pre-forum event of the 2019 Clean Cooking Forum hosted by the World Health Organisation (WHO),United Nation Development programme (UNDP),United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), and the World Bank Group.
The event sought to introduce the Health and Energy Platform of Action (HEPA) to the wider clean cooking community attending the 2019 forum and gather viewpoints from high-level actors on clean cooking solutions.
She reiterated the need to invest in solutions that have proven to be successful and adopt a targeted approach that incorporates local solutions.
She is a dedicated advocate for women and girls worldwide who works to improve the lives of those affected by gender inequalities, climate change, and other global issues. As a global ambassador for the Clean Cooking Alliance, she uses her platform to raise awareness on the issue of clean cooking and help promote the adoption of clean cooking solutions in her home country of Ghana, where nearly 80% of the population is reliant on inefficient fuels such as wood, charcoal, coal, and kerosene to cook their food.
