Summary of President Nana Akufo-Addo Eastern Region Tour so far
On Saturday as part of President commitment to the government flagship programme, the Free Senior High School, interacted with students of the Nkawkaw SHS and Koforidua Secondary Technical School in the region to know at first hand some of the challenges on the ground in the implementation of the Free SHS policy. At Nkawkaw Senior High School, After that interaction, the President also inspected ongoing projects in the school including school blocks, laboratories, libraries among others he promised to do all the 1.8km road in the school and also provide a school bus as requested by the headmaster.The President Akufo-Addo inspected the Akwasiho-Twenedurase feeder road on the first leg of his three-day visit to the Eastern region. The 5.1 kilometre road which is to have a bitumen surface is expected to facilitate the evacuation of farm produce from the area to big towns in the region.
He is also inspected ongoing road projects including the 10-km Nkawkaw Town Roads, the 41.4 km Kwabeng- Abomosu-Asuom Road and the 24.8km Osiem-Begoro Town Roads.
As part of the visit, President Akufo-Addo also visits a one district, one factory Starch Processing Factory at Begoro.
On Sunday, President Akufo-Addo worship with the Roman Catholic Church in Koforidua where he spoke on some development issues.
President also visited the Great Consolidated Diamond Company at Akwatia to assess the work of the interim management team which was established after abrogating the government’s contract with the Jospong Group.
On Monday,its expecting that The President will have durbar of teachers and pupils, according to NPP regional Chairma, would be held at the Koforidua Secondary Technical School during which the President will interact with teachers and students on issues affecting the school.
Thereafter, the President will inspect the Koforidua Sports Complex which has among others a football pitch, gymnasium, boxing gym, volleyball courts and a restaurant.
