The 2023 edition of the Eastern Music Awards came off at the Koforidua Cultural Center last Saturday.
The ceremony which was poorly organized was also fraught with controversy as patrons could be heard raising issues with some of the winners on the night.
Some of the main controversies had to do with the number of votes garnered by nominees which fell within the stipulated seventy (70%) percent for public and thirty (30%) percent for the board, but such nominees were not victors in their categories.

Most of the nominees had votes which could win them their categories but lost out on bizarre and incomprehensible grounds.
Parplus, a reporter for nsemgh.com , who was present at the event, said such ware the views of most of the patrons.
“In an interaction with a number of the patrons, the award scheme was not fair. The right winners did not win”
