In viral social media videos, a gory accident has been captured, where Funny Face has reportedly knocked down five people while driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol.
This happened at Kakraba Junction in Kasoa, the town in which the comic lives, Sunday, March 24, 2024.
According to one eyewitness, a man possibly in his 30’s, he witnessed a car knock down someone while he was parking his.
“When I went to take a look, it was Funny Face,” he added. “He first knocked down the woman who had a child behind her and one by her side. This was before he knocked the two on the motorbikes down, also. It was a terrible accident. Look at the blood [in my jeans].”
The unnnamed man explained the blood in his jeans was because “I carried the dead child”.
Another eyewitness, from the sound of their voice, a woman, chided Funny Face: “You took alcohol and drove. Look [how you have hit] five people, including two children.”
“I was sitting and saw everything. The older child is dead. We don’t know about the woman and the men – the woman will also die. Why? Funny Face, why?” she lamented, observing: “Look at how drunk he is! You are terribly drunk and you decided to drive.”
As the two eyewitnesses spoke, in Akan/Twi, Funny Face could be faintly seen explaining himself inaudibly to the crowd of witnesses.
The Ghana Police Service is yet to issue a statement about the particulars of the accident, allegedly caused by Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, alias Funny Face.
